Specs for the Thunderbolt are available from Egan Loo's Macross Compendium.
The VF-11B and VF-11C have identical statistics, but for role-playing
purposes keep in mind that the VF-11C has improved navigation equipment,
and a slightly redesigned FAST Pack.
Although the Thunderbolt does have wing hardpoints, these are almost
never used in practice. The wing hardpoints are apparently employed to
carry heavy ordnance for strikes against fixed targets.
Design Notes:
I went by the reported performance when figuring speed, since using the
thrust to weight ratio produces a fighter much faster than the VF-11 is
supposed to be.

Notes:
The FAST Packs are actually made up of two seperate components--two
booster pods that are mounted on the dorsal surface, and two conformal
fuel tank/decoy dispensers that are mounted on the engines. There are
standard booster pods and rarely-used atmospheric booster pods, but the
fuel tank parts are the same.
The booster pods and fuel tanks may be jettisoned seperately or
together. Although the booster pods must be jettisoned before
atmospheric reentry, the fuel tanks may be used in an atmosphere and
don't affect speed.
ATMOSPHERIC FAST PACK
Identical to standard FAST Pack, but can be used in an atmosphere and
maximum atmospheric speed in any mode is MA 21 (753 mph).
The atmospheric FAST Packs are only available in small numbers, and are
very rarely used. A Super Thunderbolt in an atmosphere can't exceed Mach
1--the shock waves from the FAST pack's pods would cause the fighter to
go out of control and crash.

This is the battlesuit that appears at the very beginning of Macross Plus.
This design is more opinion than anything, since no concrete information
is available on this mecha. Even the identity of its owners is
unclear. The Macross Plus TIA book calls it "Teki no Batorusuutsu"--or,
"Enemy Battlesuit." Not exactly informative.
For my own use in a campaign I'm working on, I've chosen to call this the
Inspection Army's version of a Queadlunn Rau (Miria's battlesuit from the
original series). Who uses it is anyone's guess, but one thing is clear
from the design--it is some sort of Queadlunn Rau.
Design Notes:
The original design goal was to make this roughly comparable in combat
effectiveness to the VF-11. The original design I'd playtested enough to
be satisfied with the result. However, the original VF-11 design had an
autofire gunpod, and there's no autofire in MZ. I haven't yet had time
to test the new versions to see if this upsets the balance too much.

ROLEPLAYING NOTES
The Regult is the basic Zentradi combat unit. There are missile carrier
and scout variants, but this version is the most common Zentradi mecha.
Since the Regult has been in production for almost 300,000 years, there
are quite a few of them around.
A single Regult pod is not especially effective, and would be hopelessly
outclassed by any variable fighter. They rely on numbers to be
effective--while a UN SPACY carrier might have two or three hundred
variable fighters at most, any Zentradi warship will have thousands of
Regults.
DESIGN NOTES
Since Zentradi are "Mekton scale" themselves, I used the roadstriker
scale rules for cockpits--ten spaces are set aside for a Zentradi pilot
with up to body type 10.
This design trades four kills for eight spaces in the torso and uses the
weight inefficiency to get the weight and durability to come out right.

ROLEPLAYING NOTES
The VF-19s have lower speeds for use in atmosphere from ground to 10,000
meters and from 10,000 to 30,000 meters. The flight MA reflects speeds
possible from 30,000 meters to space. The structure of the fighter
simply can't stand up to any more speed in the atmosphere.
The wing lasers may only be fired in fighter and GERWALK modes. In
Battroid mode they are positioned in the "waist" area pointing up, and
would probably hit the arms if fired.
There is a FAST Pack available for the Excalibur which can be used
either in space or in an atmosphere. However, these are almost never
used--throughout the Protodeviln War, they were only used on two
occasions.
The conformal fuel tanks used with the FAST Pack and the fold booster
are actually the same thing. Unlike the booster pods, the fuel tanks may
be carried during atmospheric reentry.
The booster pods for a FAST Pack or fold booster render the active
stealth system inoperative. As long as they are attached, the Excalibur
can be detected normally. The conformal fuel tanks are protected by the
active stealth system, however.
Although the Excalibur does have wing hardpoints, these are very rarely
used in practice. The wing hardpoints are apparently employed to carry
heavy ordnance for strikes against fixed targets.
The VF-19s assigned to Emerald Force are seen throughout the latter
episodes of Macross 7. Emerald Force has two VF-19Fs and one VF-19S,
assigned to Docker-Tai-i.
DESIGN NOTES
The speed for this fighter is based on its ability to fly into orbit. In
Mekton Zeta, that's speed 109. I then boosted it a bit so that it would
be noticably faster at full throttle than a VF-11 with SRBs. This does
produce a somewhat higher speed than the printed material gives it. I
recommend using the lower atmospheric speeds, which match the maximum
speed listed in Macross Plus: This is Animation.

The Cotten-class long-range tender is a fairly large ship by itself. Unlike most ships in
the fleet, it is a dedicated supply vessel not meant to participate in combat at all.
Slightly larger than a Nova class, and with a crew of only 35 it can store a great deal
of food and life support with a small amount of fuel for the reactors. Along with the raw
materials the Cotten also totes replacement parts and repair tools. In fact, the Cotten
itself is able to act as a psuedo dry dock, using its length as a framework from which
to repair other ships.
Except for difficult or extensive repairs, the Cotten can refurbish a ship in less than
one hour. It carries enough supplies to be able to bring 24 ships that are completely
expended up to full status. This means that ships do not have to leave their deep patrols
or the combat lines in order to be replenished.
Normally, the Cotten moves from task force to task force topping off reserves, so it
doesn't stay in space long before returning to a base to refill.

One of the most advanced fighters among the younger races, the Centauri
Sentri incorporates magneto-gravitic technology into its propulsion
systems. While not as maneuverable as a Starfury, the Sentri is almost
twice as fast. Although overpowered by other races' heavy fighters, the
Centauri compensate for this through superior numbers.
The Sentri fighter has an advanced autopilot system. This "intelligent"
system monitors the activities of the Centauri pilot - flight path, current
target, bio signs, etc. Should the pilot black out during high-G maneuvers,
the autopilot will instantly take over the ship until the pilot awakens.

The Hyperion heavy cruiser was the main Earthforce ship during the Earth-Minbari war.
They were badly outgunned by Minbari Sharlin warcruisers and fared poorly. After the war,
the remaining Hyperions were upgraded with technology developed and purchased during and
after the war. These refit Hyperions now serve as support ships to the Omega destroyers.

The Hyperion-class heavy cruiser was the mainstay of the Earthforce fleet during the Dilgar
Invasion. When the Earth-Minbari War began, the Cruiser defended the Earth with honor. Very
few survived the near-holocaust. After the war, the Hyperion design was significantly
upgraded (as this was preferable to decommisioning much needed military vessels) and they
now act as support vessels for the Omega-class destroyers.
Unlike recent Earthforce designs, the heavy cruiser has no rotational sections, requiring
the vessel to have crewmen trained to work in a microgravity environment. In addition to
heavy munitions, the heavy cruiser also has a Starfury compliment of six.

The Nova class dreadnought is an older, but still effective battleship. While slow firing,
its large numbers of Dual Plasma Cannons ensures that it is a ship to be reckoned with.
It is at somewhat of a disadvantage against upgraded Hyperion heavy cruisers and Omega
destroyers, due to their longer range weapons, but no other EA ship can match the close
range firepower of a Nova dreadnought.

Light, fast and deadly, the Olympus is the most aggressive ship for its size. A minimal
amount of space is devoted to the complement of 75 men and women who crew the ship. The
rest of the Olympus is crammed tightly with massive engines and powerful weaponry. It
is the fastest capital ship in the Earth Alliance space fleet.
Not heavy enough to stand toe-to-toe with most warships, the Olympus relies on speed

Equipped with a jump engine and heavy armaments, the G'Quan is used for a wide array of
mission profiles. However, while this ship is quite deadly in space, it lacks the large
ground force necessary for the taking of a planet. This drawback is made up for by including
T'Loth Assault Cruisers (capable of holding a full division of Narn troops) into the conquering
fleet. A more serious flaw in the construction of the heavy cruiser is that a power loss
occurs in the main engines as the ship exits hyperspace. The power loss is absorbed by many
non-weapons systems; including the communications array. During this time, the ship cannot
communicate with its home base.
The angular heavy cruiser is composed of three decks. The upper deck houses a small troop
transport located near the outer hatch. This positioning allows the armed troops to exit
first. The middle deck houses all command stations (the bridge, weaponry, and engineering).
These stations are encased in separate modules complete with independent life support and
power systems. This configuration allows the bridge to be completely sealed off from the rest
of the ship. The lower deck contains the crew quarters, medbay, mess hall, latrines, and the
hold. The fighter bay is also located on this level and can hold a maximum of twelve Narn
fighters. Crew quarters are designed to hold two crewmen each.

Built without the knowledge of the Minbari warrior caste, this gunboat is a combination of
Minbari and Vorlon technologies. While most of the vessel is strictly Minbari technology,
the vessel's inner and outer structure is composed of an adaptive organo-metallic substance
with self-repair capabilities. This "skin" learns from experience and once a form of damage
is encountered, the skin alters itself to better deflect that type of damage. Despite its
size, a Whitestar's power output is tremendous, allowing the medium vessel to form jumppoints.
However, once the engines are taken off-line, it takes twenty standard minutes to rebuild the
charge needed to activate them again. An advanced holographic display system can show scanner
data as crystal clear images. An additional holo-tactical/communications display is set into
the floor.

Notes:
Orgun, a Detonator class Evoluder, is the main character of the serie. Technically,
the real Orgun died in 2292AD on the Moon, unable to reach Earth. However, during the
full year before his arrival, he beamed to Earth all the datas necessary to build
another himself. The EDF, unable to know what those datas were when they received it,
just gave it to I-ZAK, the supercomputer, who in turn dumped them in the Wirbel Wind
Auto-Production System. The result was another Orgun who immediately started seeking
Tomoru Shindo upon his activation. However, this new Orgun wasn't completely the same:
he needed to merge with Tomoru in order to function properly. This distinction was
ultimately the downfall of the Evoluder Leader Zoa: no weapon or damage could match
the human determination of Orgun.
