Varying Internal Automation Statistics
I did point swapping on AI stats when they build their mecha with built-in automation. IMHO, this allows a lot more flexability when constructing machines with personalities, like a few particular units in my NOAH campaign, to which I will be posting some info on here soon.
It just seems so bland to me to have a computer that can do everything it was built to do with the same skill/stat base number. So, I just multiply the automation level by the number of stats(10 usually, 11 when I want to have psychic machines), and the number of skills in the portfolio by the automation level, and just use all of that as a pool for a character. Just a little something I do to spice up my games....take or leave it at my home with the rest of the house rules.....
The Boomers in Bubblegum Crisis RPG were created using MZ+ and they have IA and their stats are all moved around. Therefore, if R.Tals does it, it's alright, nez pas?
Of course, we'll forget for now that R.Tal regularly flagrantly violate their own rules in their example builds and sometimes throw continuity and game balance to the wind for the sake of expedience, but that's a different story.
