Satellite Weapons

Mekton pilots want to carry massive weapons, sometimes of up to 10/1 or even 100/1 scale to engage their enemies. But they don't want to pay the massive costs to power such a weapon.

SOLUTION-Build the weapon at the scale you want. Pay for the cost and spaces of the weapon as if it were a regular 1/1 scale weapon, but note that it is a Satellite Weapon, which is bought as a x2 cost-modifier. Then, on a unit that the weapon's scale is actually like, built the weapon again, paying the same x2 multiplier. This is the broadcast unit that powers the Satellite Weapon.

The broadcast unit can power the weapon at a range of it's current range x10, with the standard scale-level modifiers. The unit that carries the Satellite Cannon must divide the Kills of the weapon by 10 to determine how much Reciever Area the unit needs. Each unit of reciever area is a single-space object, and can use Space Efficency.

Unless the unit that provide the power has the Variable Advantage (x10), only the Satellite Cannon can attack. Both units must have line-of-sight with each other, and to power the weapon, the broadcast unit must make a standard to-hit roll(without modifier for scale-we'll assume that the lock-on is easy). The Satellite Weapon unit must be in range to make contact(if it's too far away, it might not be able to call for help) and have to use TWO actions to fire-one to call for the power needed to fire, and the second to actually fire. For machines with multiple pilots, this can be split between crew members.

While the Satellite Cannon can use weapon advantages normally, there are certian modifcations to the Broadcast Unit when it uses weapon advantages:
Autofire-Can power a number of units equal to the BV value. All must be hit with the roll to power them. Infinite BV can power(of course) an infinite number of units.
Wide Angle-Only the Hex Advantage can be used, and rather than target the Mekton, you target the hex that the Mekton is in.
Megabeam-The Broadcast Unit can do damage without using the Variable Advantage. However, it is a RANDOM attack based upon the following method- the unit that is being broadcasted power must dodge the beam. If it suceeds, continue drawing the Line of Sight until it hits SOMETHING, ANYTHING, even terrain features. And, unless the target can make a Luck roll, it is hit by the full power of the beam.
Long Range-If it can be contacted, the broadcast unit can power the Satellite Cannon. This works for units that depend upon broadcasted power from a VERY long range.

EXAMPLE:The Gundam X from (of course) Gundam X uses a Satellite Cannon. The weapon's own costs are as follows:

(+0 WA, 80 kills, 8 damage, 110 hex range, 1296 cp, 0 cp space efficency, BV Infinite, 3 turn Warm-Up, Mega-Beam, Satellite Weapon)

Now, to power this thing(which will take up 8 spaces of Power Collectors, which the player puts on the unit's wings), the Broadcast Unit is a 10/1 scale device, located on the Moon. The Broadcast Unit's stats are written up like this-

(+0 WA, 80 kills, 80 damage, 11000 hex range, 23940 cp, 0 cp space efficency, BV Infinte, Long Ranged, Mega-Beam, Broadcasting Unit).

So, to power it, the player has to call the unit to power his weapon(or have a friendly Newtype ask it for help) then wait as it fires. Wait three turns, and enjoy reducing terrain to rubble!
