Ground Movement Rules

In Mekton Zeta / Zeta Plus, the ground MA of a mech is determined by solely its weight. I felt that this across the board standard was too..... well standard. I know that the MA may be modified by Under/Over/Super charging the engine, but this only gives a -1 to +2 difference. So, here are some variations I came up with:

  1. For every extra 1 MA, add a 0.1 multiplier to the cost.
Ex: A mech with a base 4 MA is bumped up to a 6 MA. and the multiplier is 0.2

  2. Divide the new MA by the old MA and subtract 1 to get the multiplier.
Ex: Same mech as above, the multiplier would be 0.5

  3. Divide the new MA by the old MA, square the reslt, and then subtract 1.
Ex: Same mech as above, the multiplier would be 1.25

  1. The multiplier cost would be applied to the movement system

  2. The multiplier cost would be applied to the entire mech

I favor using 1b with 2a (for games with lots of speed variation), or 1c with 2a (for games with some speed variation).
